LA ARTISTA
KRISTIE ARIAS
A textile artist, teacher, and cultural manager, Kristie Arias has dedicated her career to exploring and elevating Peruvian textile art. Her work combines a solid academic background with firsthand experience learning traditional techniques alongside artisans from diverse regions of the country. She has collaborated with important institutions such as the MATE Museum, PromPerú, and the UPC University, in addition to serving as co-director of the Amano Pre-Columbian Museum. Her work, crafted on a stretcher loom, bridges the gap between ancestral textile heritage and contemporary language, consolidating her position as a key figure in Peru's artistic and cultural scene.

John Esquivel es un artista textil, diseñador de moda y especialista en tejido plano Jacquard electrónico, combina más de dos décadas de experiencia en la industria textil con una visión artística que explora los límites entre tradición e innovación, siendo un referente en la integración de la herencia textil peruana con un lenguaje visual moderno que resuena dentro y fuera del Perú.
Su trayectoria en creación de piezas para marcas internacionales y el desarrollo de colecciones icónicas para KUNA, fueron fundamentales para guiar al equipo junto con Kristie Arias, en un meticuloso trabajado técnico, desde la cuidadosa selección de hilos de fibras nobles hasta el diseño preciso desarrollado en CAD. El resultado: una obra textil que refleja precisión, creatividad y un profundo respeto por el arte del tejido.
